Assuming you joined a club or class, what is the first thing you learned or you think you will learn?
Mine starts next month and since 4 of the classes don't involve a saber at all I am assuming it is all about choreography.

Well based on the ones I have been in or read about, a lot of them will start you out with proper stances and then you will learn to hold the saber. Most cases, the actual dueling doesn't happen for a while. The better clubs will make you wait several weeks for it or possible take classes in levels and ranking like karate so I think you found yourself a good place to start learning!

I can't honestly say what you will end up learning but if they are starting you out without sabers, you are probably going to learn how to stand and interact without them being present. It just gets your body more prepared this way. I have seen this done with sword dueling as well.

^ I agree with that. I think that learning how to stand and move is important so you don't hurt yourself. I know someone who dislocated his shoulder sparing. OUCH!

The first thing I learned is honestly to be patient. Some stuff came to me super fast while other things, well lets just say they need "work".
I think it is a process, whatever you learn no matter what it is, you are learning and that is what counts.

This is a great question cause I was wondering the same. Ir appears that it depends on way you go to get training. I am doing to look into this more though for sure.

Not every place you go to for training will be the same. Some make you learn basic martial arts and others wont even let you touch a light saber for several classes/lessons because they want you to be prepared. Then others give it to you day one and don't allow you to spar or duel until you are read.
