This is a review for an Ultrasabers model Dark Liberator V3 lightsaber. I purchased this as part of a grab bag deal, so it was chosen randomly by US staff for shipping to me. The blade color is red.

The construction of the hilt is solid. I do not feel any of the optics or battery slide around during swings with the saber. The artistry of the saber is also very visually appealing, too. However I have a few concerns about the grip for serious dueling; firstly the emitter has some thin edges, kind of like a cheese grater. I would be concerned about dualing with the saber and cutting my fingers on it. Similarly the grooves in the hilt around the emitter are also very sharp and I feel as the grip slides in the hands it has potential for cutting the hand. I am planning to look into creating a custom grip for this hilt to compensate for these functional design flaws.

The hilt looks really cool and I also love the color of dark obsidian. Seems like a really smooth hilt. The thin edges are a concern, though. You are right.
