Lightsaber Fitness Exercises

    Lately there has been a lot of news coverage about lightsaber fitness classes. That has gotten me thinking about what kind of warm up drills can be done with a lightsaber. For the next book I am working on I am including a section on drills like this and thought I'd share one of them here.


    I call this exercise Saber Leg Raises. It's a pretty challenging exercise that really works your core.

    Does anyone have any ideas on other cool warm up exercises that can be done with a lightsaber?

    I think proper warm up for lightsaber training doesn't necessarily need to include the use of the lightsaber... Every body is different and everyone should do a bit of research (while listening to their body) to create a warm up routine that is specific to their needs, fitness goals, and abilities. I find that a Yoga based routine is ideal for me... something similar to the "cold start" routine from P90X3 for those of us familiar to that program. :)

    This is very true. It's not my intent to make every warmup exercise require use of a lightsaber, but I thought since the tool is available it can't hurt to incorporate some.

    Interestingly enough it seems many Yoga studios are offering lightsaber classes, combining Yoga with saber drills.

    Nice! Can`t wait to learn more about this. Incorporating a lightsaber with your daily warm-up routine seems a very novel ideal, for sure.

    This is very neat, I didn't even think of something like this. I would love to see a full list. This is like yoga for saber arts haha
